A call for input and feedback on the draft Destination Management Plan (DMP) for North Yorkshire.

Since the launch of the new North Yorkshire Council on 1st April 2023, the Destination Harrogate team has been working closely with the tourism and visitor economy teams from across the county to begin the journey to become one North Yorkshire Tourism service, collectively promoting North Yorkshire as a first-choice visitor destination.

One of the first steps on this journey has been the development of a new DMP for North Yorkshire. The input from the local tourism industry is crucial to this process and consultation has already included workshops, 1-1 discussions with key industry partners, an online survey and product audit in order to produce a draft of the plan.

A draft plan is now available and we are now asking tourism businesses to fine-tune this first North Yorkshire Destination Management Strategy that aims to attract more visitors to the county and support the multi-million pound industry.

How to provide feedback

A series of events are being held throughout August to gather information and views from key businesses involved in the visitor economy to shape the draft plan. You are welcome to attend any of these events. Sessions are also being held online.

Update – 23 August

This month two sessions each were held in Ripon and Harrogate on 15 & 16 August respectively.

The next opportunity to feedback will take place Wednesday 13th September at The Crown Hotel, Harrogate at 11am – 1pm OR 3pm- 5pm

You can see a full list of the sessions being held across North Yorkshire and register your place here: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/north-yorkshire-destination-management-plan-2137459
