Destination Christmas won the local Business Award for Tourism in 2023 for its contribution to the district’s offering as a tourism destination and was shortlisted in the City Nation Place Awards as a finalist for Best Communications Strategy in the Tourism category.
Building on the success of previous years our 2023 campaign will elevate the combined Christmas offers of Harrogate, Ripon and Knaresborough, as well as the unique community events that take place across Boroughbridge, Masham and Pateley Bridge.
It builds on the established brand and uses familiar creative elements with traditional marketing spend, partnership work and social media using compelling content and images and video assets captured during previous seasons to generate interest and excitement.
The target markets for Destination Christmas are broader than other Visit Harrogate campaigns. Everyone loves Christmas and the Harrogate area of North Yorkshire has a Festive offering with universal appeal. We aim our campaign to:
The themes of the campaign range from how the district’s Christmas offer is back bigger and better than ever before, to a focus and highlight on the illuminations and events of the whole area to connect visitors with new activities they didn’t know they wanted to attend.
The campaign focuses on targeted digital activity alongside a mix of PR, influencer engagement, print and a multi-channel social media campaign.
