Since the launch of Destination Harrogate in March 2022, we have been meeting with partners and supporters to share news, and provide updates and plans for campaigns.
One of the key elements of our communications strategy is the re-establishment of face-to-face networking groups and forums. This provides our partners and stakeholders regular opportunities for in-person information sharing, input on our future plans and a chance to get together and catch up.
In April, Destination Harrogate hosted a meeting of Sales and Marketing Managers from hotels across the district at the Garden Tipi of the Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate. Attendees included representatives from Grantley Hall and Swinton Park and other hotels who were able to catch up with their peers after the enforced separations of the pandemic and look forward to a busy summer working together. The next Sales and Marketing Managers networking evening is planned for Tuesday 26 July.
In May, our Attractions Forum was able to meet for the first time since March 2020. At the beautiful Yorkshire Heart vineyard, many of our key visitor attractions exchanged notes on plans and aspirations for summer 2022, this included a particular focus on the ‘staycation effect’ of summer 2021, when domestic visitor numbers soared over the summer months. The Visit Harrogate team was in attendance and shared insight, plans and campaign initiatives with the group.
Our Attractions Forum is due to meet again in September when we can reflect on the summer months and look ahead to our Christmas campaign. We are currently looking for a host venue for this event – please contact us via email at hello@destinationharrogate.co.uk if you would like to be considered for this opportunity to showcase your site to representatives from the area’s tourist attractions.
Destination Harrogate also supports other forums within the district including Visit Ripon and Accommodation Harrogate, and members of our team are always happy to attend meetings to give updates and progress reports.
