This month we have launched a new campaign to position the Harrogate district as a first choice destination for Health and Wellbeing.

Since 1571, people have flocked to Harrogate to feel the benefits of its spring waters and spa experiences believing them to have medicinal properties.

In 2022, we are showcasing why the Harrogate district is still a place to feel good with a multi-channel marketing campaign focusing on the district’s spa heritage and Health & Wellbeing experiences.

The UK staycation boom of 2021 led to domestic holiday destinations and opportunities for ‘holidaying-at-home’ being thrown under the spotlight. Whilst international travel continues to stabilise, there are more opportunities to maximise on a domestic market who are looking to continue holidaying closer to home.

Delivered under the Visit Harrogate brand, this campaign encourages short breaks in the district. Under the tagline “A place to feel good. Since 1571”, the activity draws on the destination’s rich spa heritage whilst showcasing all of the great ways a visitor can enjoy a relaxing, exhilarating or restorative break in the area.

The campaign targets the North East and wider Yorkshire area, as well as the South East to maximise on the direct train route from London Kings Cross with LNER.

Campaign activity

The campaign, which is live now, runs until the end of the year and will be delivered across multiple channels with a key focus on digital. Visually led, the campaign activity centres around a newly-created video and stunning new photography showcasing our campaign partners and the Health & Wellbeing experiences that they offer.

The video will appear on the Visit Harrogate website, across the Visit Harrogate social media channels, in digital display advertising targeting key markets with relevant interests, on the big screens at the Great Yorkshire Show, within advertorials on regional media websites and on screens in the Tourist Information Centres in the Harrogate district.

You can help spread the word by sharing the posts from Visit Harrogate with the video or, if you would like a link to download the video, please email hello@destinationharrogate.co.uk.

The new photography will appear across a range of new visuals including full-page print adverts, outdoor advertising in key transport hubs including London Kings Cross and social media advertising.  The campaign will be amplified with PR and influencer activity to encourage press visits to the area.

All campaign activities will drive traffic to the dedicated campaign page on the Visit Harrogate website (www.visitharrogate.co.uk/feelgoodplace) where a visitor will be able to find their perfect Health & Wellbeing experience from our campaign partners and start planning their short break.
